Libraries Are First in Mind for Quick Answers
Just today (1/2/03) I once again proved
the power of the Internet in answering
reference questions. An elementary
school teacher came in wanting to know
what other films had been directed locally
by the gentleman, she didn't know his
name, who directed the movie "Prancer."
Just by typing in "Prancer video" I was
able to come up with his name and then
searched under "John Hancock director"
to find out what other films he had
directed. Before she had chosen
materials to read I had her answer
waiting at the front desk. That's the type
of quick service that puts libraries first in the patron's mind when they want quick
answers and it wouldn't be possible for
us if there was no state support of
Internet for libraries and schools.

INSPIRE Is a Tremendous Research Tool
INSPIRE is a tremendous tool for helping library patrons of all ages research articles for school papers or for their personal use. It is very user friendly and being able to access it from home is an asset.

INSPIRE Is a Plus for Indiana
Working as a reference librarian I come in contact with many students. INSPIRE is a wonderful resource for them. Many of them are unaware that it exists and are elated when they find that they can access it from their own computer. Recently, I had a couple come in to do research. I told them about INSPIRE. They had to leave, but accessed it from home. The next day they came to print what they had downloaded as their printer was broken. They thanked me again for telling them about INSPIRE. INSPIRE is a definite plus for libraries and their patrons in Indiana.

INSPIRE Is Great Asset for Educating Indiana Citizens
As a reference librarian, I have talked to many people who are working while attending surrounding colleges. Many times these students don't have time to stay at school to do research as they need to be at work, etc. INSPIRE has been a Godsend to them as they can access many kinds of research materials from either our local library or from home. INSPIRE is a great asset in the education of Indiana citizens.
