Library = Floodgate of Information
I moved to Rising Sun a few years ago. Before now I had lived only in large cities. I've always wanted to live where the major ground cover was grass and not cement. During my short time here, I have come to love many aspects of the area; my favorite outdoor activity is to walk alongside the beautiful Ohio River with my dog. But perhaps the biggest surprise and delight of the area for me is the Ohio County Public Library and its wonderful staff. I knew from the day I saw the charming brick building on the corner of Main and High Streets that it would not be long before I would be going there to explore its contents. On my first visit to the library, I timidly walked around, explored the shelves and tried finding things for myself on the library computer. Before long I was approached by the librarian. She offered to help me find what I was looking for. Once I mentioned my interest in women writers of women detective stories I opened a floodgate of information. This was the beginning of one of the greatest reading adventures of my life.
