Great Event at the Library
Hog Eye Navvy's recent concert at the Mooresville Public Library was fantastic! Thank you to Sam Carlisle for sponsoring this wonderful program for the community. Thank you to the library for providing the facilities. Thanks also to Starbucks for providing coffee and cookies! What a great deal for a Saturday afternoon at the library!

Bravo Library!
BRAVO to the Mooresville Public Library!! For National Children's Book Week and National Author's Day, the MPL recently invited 5th grade students from my school to the library to meet an author. April Pulley Sayre talked to our students for about an hour, answered their questions, and really gave them an idea of how she takes material and presents it in a way that is more interesting to a reader. She captured our students' attention and they remained focused on her through her whole presentation -- no wriggling, squirming, poking, talking, etc. Students' questions were very specific, showed higher levels of thinking skills and a keen perception of Ms. Sayre's topics. The whole experience was very positive. Ms. Sayre "spoke" to the students at their level on things that interested them. She related some personal experiences and empahsized to students that they CAN become authors too! Thanks to the MPL and the Claire & Helen Cook Endowment, which funded this great presentation, for including our students!!! It was a wonderful experience!
