INSPIRE Is a Valuable Tool
INSPIRE is the most valuable tool that our middle
schools offer, in terms of research. Having
students just surf the web is not effective research.
The databases give reliable, accurate information,
while the same cannot be said for all websites.
Biography Resource Center is the best database
available for biographical information. Losing
INSPIRE because of funding will be a travesty.
For many schools, it is the only database resource
available.

INSPIRE Databases Are Invaluable
EBSCOHost is invaluable to our students with low reading levels and our ESL students. When research for a topic is required, the Primary and Middle Search options are the first choices I show students. They can successfully find material and feel that they've accomplished their goals.

INSPIRE Is For Anyone Needing Research
INSPIRE is used at our library by college students who want to do their research at the public library, by kids who need at least one magazine article as a source, by people doing business research, and by just about anyone needing to do research! The additional databases available, such as LitFinder and Biography Resource, are also very useful. Having the ability to e-mail articles is also very popular with our patrons.

INSPIRE useful to homeschooled
I was impressed by a patron who brought his younger homeschooled brother to the library and taught him to use INSPIRE.

Thanks to INSPIRE
Thanks to INSPIRE I have been able to help teachers, as well as students, retrieve information for research. On one project, students needed to research people and events from the Middle Ages. We were able to provide some good biographical material on each of the names on their list. Another project where students created newspapers reflecting any decade of their choice, was made much easier by using INSPIRE to search for magazine and newspaper articles. We also have some teachers who are taking night classes towards their master's degrees who use INSPIRE for their professional journals and articles. It's nice to be able to go to a site that gives good information without having to weed through a lot of worthless junk.

Info from bananas to zebras!
INSPIRE has enabled me to help patrons with various questions. I've looked up and printed off many different tax forms from the Indiana links, gotten newspaper articles for students, legal forms for people with tenant/landlord problems, and information of all kinds from bananas to zebras. As I use it more and more, I appreciate what a valuable resource it is. It's a convenient and seemingly endless field of information to dig into.

Current, Relevant Information
One of our staff members at Oaklawn Psychiatric Center was to appear in court and needed several articles about child abuse disclosure. I was able to retrieve at the last minute many of the articles he wanted plus several more that were more recent and relevant.

Staff Is Kept Well Informed
I do reference work for the staff of Oaklawn Psychiatric Center & Hospital. It is very important that our staff is well informed. For the 75 or more references inquiries I have had so far this year, I have used INSPIRE for almost all of them. Usually, I can supply most of what the staff person needs the very same day because of INSPIRE. I don't know what I would do without it.

Exactly What We Are Looking For
INSPIRE has made my students' research much more thorough. They find articles that are exactly what they are looking for and are appropriate for their research. We are not going through a multistep process of looking through a multitude of indexes and then going into the stacks to retrieve the magazine. My students are starting to access INSPIRE more and more from home.
